English Pointer
Whether your buying a new dog or simply looking for a shelter that will help you adopt a new pet, Insurance4Britain.com is the place to look for all your pet and pet insurance needs.
The Pointer, often called the English Pointer, is a breed of dog bred as a gun dog. Its nature is slow and methodical, and is one of several pointing breeds. Pointers are more popular as working dogs rather than as pets, despite that they are ideal for home life.
They are friendly, affectionate and obedient dogs which socialise well with other dogs and household animals if introduced to them early on in their lives. They are usually loving and patient towards children, and enjoy being included in all matters of family life. They rely on human contact and are very much in tune with household circumstance.
Because of their friendliness, Pointers are not ideal guard dogs, as they tend to greet everybody in the same welcoming manner; they will usually bark when someone comes to the door, but that's about it! English Pointers are known for their even, obedient and kind dispositions.,br>
Because of their fine skins, Pointers need to be kept in warm, draught-free conditions. They can become destructive and are prone to behavioural problems if left alone for too long. They require quite a lot of exercise, but little grooming. Their lifespan is considered to be 13-14 years.
