?American Cocker Spaniel
Whether your buying a new dog or simply looking for a shelter that will help you adopt a new pet, Insurance4Britain.com is the place to look for all your pet and pet insurance needs.
The American Cocker Spaniel is the smallest of the Gundogs. They are particularly good at both pointing to and fetching game. The first Cocker in America is believed to have arrived with the Pilgrim Fathers on the Mayflower in 1620. Further settlers continued to bring of the breed with them and then the American Cocker was produced from the English Cocker during the 1800?s. Their main difference to the latter is their size and throughout the years they changed so much that they became a breed of their own in 1945 and remains one to the US most popular breeds to date.
They are intelligent dogs, eager to please, adaptable and easy to train. They are also happy and content dogs, making them great family pets. However the can tend to be a little mischievous, so patience is sometimes needed so an experienced owner is best. They have boundless energy so adequate exercise is a must. They require a lot of grooming on a daily basis as well as frequent trims and baths.
Their lifespan is considered to be 13-14 years.
Make sure that you have adequate dog insurance to cover these things - they are more common than most people might think.
